EXPLANATORY NOTES

If you don't get it, not to worry.

I don't get it either.

I paint to surprise myself, I am not interested in advertising an idea, or copying things.

My subject is nature and life, gothic and wild.

I am not interested in the line around ourselves or painting the dead skin of things.

I want a painting to be a wonder, in the style of life/nature itself; a surprise, a tragedy, a mystery.

I am interested in paintings that are both humble and spiritual.

I want these (new) things to have a clumsy, ecstatic-life-burst, childish and ridiculous. I want them to have striking forms, tactile and open. I want them to be stupid and bright, I want them to be sad, wise and dark.

I find my pictures odd, a scientific diary of experimentation and personal narrative in all their glories and failures. I don't get them, but I am trying to be honest and excited. I hope you will feel at home with them.
